Permanently fix PDF page orientation in the file

1 min read·25 July 2026

A scanned document showing sideways, or a page that should be landscape but is portrait? PDFrust rotates pages permanently — not a temporary view setting, but an actual change to the file structure.

Temporary vs. permanent rotation

Many PDF viewers have a rotation button that rotates the view temporarily — but next time you open the file, it's wrong again. PDFrust rotates pages permanently in the PDF file structure so the document displays correctly everywhere.

How to rotate

Open the rotate tool and upload your PDF. Select the pages to rotate (all, odd only, or a specific selection). Choose the angle: 90° clockwise, 90° counter-clockwise, or 180° (to fix upside-down pages). Click "Rotate" and download the result.

Mixed orientations in one document

A report with most pages in portrait and tables in landscape is common. Rotate only the relevant pages and leave the rest unchanged. The rotate tool works at the individual page level.

Rotating pages in a large document

To rotate only a few pages in a large document: use the split tool to extract those pages, rotate them, then re-merge them back at the correct position using the merge tool. More steps but maximum control.
