Frequently asked questions
Are all pages rotated or can I pick one?
The chosen rotation is applied to all pages at once. If you only want to rotate one page, use the 'Organise pages' tool — there you can rotate each thumbnail individually.
Why is my PDF sideways?
This often happens with scanned documents when the paper was placed in the wrong direction in the scanner. PDFs from Word or a mobile app can also have the wrong orientation if the document was created in portrait mode but printed in landscape.
Does the file size stay the same?
Yes, rotating is a metadata operation: the page content is not re-rendered or compressed. The file size barely changes.
What is the difference between 90° and 270°?
90° rotates the page clockwise (the top goes to the right). 270° rotates counter-clockwise (the top goes to the left). 180° turns the page upside down, fixing an upside-down problem.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your own browser. Your file never leaves your device and is not stored anywhere.
Is it free?
Yes, completely free, without watermark or account. The site is paid for by ads.

Why in the browser?
PDFrust runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly and modern JavaScript libraries such as pdf-lib and PDF.js. Your file is never sent to a server — all processing happens locally on your device. This means your documents remain private by design, regardless of what they contain. There is no account required, no file size limit, and nothing is stored after you close the tab.
