2 min read·25 July 2026

A garden designer or landscaper works with design plans, plant specifications, quotes and maintenance programmes. PDF gives all those documents a professional presentation and makes them shareable with clients.

Design plan as PDF

A garden design plan contains floor plans (top view and perspective), plant locations, material specifications and mood photos. Export the plan from your design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Vectorworks) as PDF. Merge mood photos and reference images using PDF merge. Compress for email delivery.

Plant lists and specifications

A plant list contains botanical name, common name, pot size, quantities and supplier choice. Present as a PDF table. Merge with the design plan for a complete document. Use page numbers for extensive plant specifications.

Landscaping quotes

A landscaping quote specifies: groundworks, hard landscaping, planting, irrigation and finishing — each with quantities and unit prices. Create as a PDF template. Add a watermark "QUOTE VALID 30 DAYS". Client signs for agreement with date.

Maintenance programmes

An annual maintenance programme describes when each task is carried out: pruning, fertilising, weed control, irrigation checks. Create as a clear calendar PDF per month. Share monthly by email as a reminder to the client.

Before and after documentation

Photos of the garden before and after installation are powerful marketing. Convert JPEG photos to PDF and merge into a before-and-after report. Combine with the design for a complete realisation document. Use as a portfolio for new clients.
