PDF guide for social workers and welfare professionals
2 min read·18 March 2027
Social workers manage client files, reports, referral letters, and multi-disciplinary meeting minutes. With PDFrust all these documents can be safely compiled and professionally processed.
Create and maintain client files
A client file consists of intake forms, session notes, referrals, and correspondence. Merge all separate documents in chronological order. Add bookmarks per category (intake, support plan, evaluations) for quick navigation. Protect the file with a password.
Protect confidential reports
Reports to neighbourhood teams, courts, or care institutions contain sensitive personal data. Protect each report as a PDF — only the receiving institution should be able to open it. Flatten all signatures and annotations before sending. Use the Redact tool if you are sharing only part of the file.

Format referral letters
Referrals to mental health services, shelters, or debt counselling are sent as PDFs. Add relevant attachments (income declaration, medical statement). Sign the referral digitally and add the organisation's stamp using the Stamp tool.
Compile multi-disciplinary meeting notes
Multi-disciplinary meeting (MDT) notes integrate input from multiple professionals. Merge the separate notes of the youth worker, psychologist, and social worker into one MDT report. Annotate action points per professional with colour-coded highlights.
Redact personal data for training and supervision
Case discussions during supervision and training require anonymisation. Use the Redact tool to permanently remove names, addresses, and other identifying data from the case description. Save the anonymised version as a separate PDF.
