How to sign a PDF contract and prepare it for sending

Adding a digital signature to a PDF contract is simple and legally valid in most European countries. With PDFrust you go through the whole process: fill in the form, sign, and prepare for archiving.

Legal validity of a digital signature

In the EU the eIDAS regulation applies: a simple electronic signature (e.g. a scanned signature or typed name) is legally valid for most contracts. For higher legal certainty qualified signatures are needed, but for the majority of business contracts a digital signature suffices.

Step 1: fill in the form

Step 2: add your signature

Open PDFrust's sign tool. Choose where you want to sign and draw your signature with the mouse, touchscreen, or upload a photo of your handwritten signature. The signature is embedded as an image at the exact location.

Step 3: flatten and archive

Use the flatten tool to "bake" the completed form and signature into the PDF — after that they can no longer be edited. Download the final contract and save it in your archive. Send the signed copy back to the other party.
