How to sign a PDF contract and prepare it for sending

Adding a digital signature to a PDF contract is simple and legally valid in most European countries. With PDFrust you go through the whole process: fill in the form, sign, and prepare for archiving.

Legal validity of a digital signature

In the EU the eIDAS regulation applies: a simple electronic signature (e.g. a scanned signature or typed name) is legally valid for most contracts. For higher legal certainty qualified signatures are needed, but for the majority of business contracts a digital signature suffices.

Step 1: fill in the form

Step 2: add your signature

Open PDFrust's sign tool. Choose where you want to sign and draw your signature with the mouse, touchscreen, or upload a photo of your handwritten signature. The signature is embedded as an image at the exact location.

Step 3: flatten and archive

Use the flatten tool to "bake" the completed form and signature into the PDF, after that they can no longer be edited. Download the final contract and save it in your archive. Send the signed copy back to the other party.
