How to rotate PDF pages to the correct orientation

1 min read·25 July 2026

Is a scanned PDF upside down or sideways? With PDFrust's rotate tool you turn individual pages or the entire document to the correct orientation — 90°, 180°, or 270° in one click.

When do you need to rotate?

After a wrong scan: the scanner was placed incorrectly so the text is sideways or upside down. Some documents are in landscape format but were mixed with portrait pages. A digital camera photo saved as a PDF where the camera orientation was not carried over.

Rotate tool in PDFrust

Open the rotate tool on PDFrust. Upload your PDF. Choose the pages to rotate (all, or a specific page number). Choose the rotation angle: 90° clockwise, 90° counter-clockwise, or 180° (upside down flip). Download the result.

Rotating individual pages

Does a document have both portrait and landscape pages, but some are incorrectly oriented? Rotate only those specific pages by entering the page number. The rest remains unchanged.

Rotating vs. mirroring

Rotating turns the page around a central point (90°, 180°, 270°). Mirroring flips the page around its axis (horizontally or vertically). If text is upside down but readable: 180° rotation. If text runs mirrored (right to left): use the mirror tool.
