Poster tiling: split a large PDF across multiple A4 pages
1 min read·25 July 2026
Want to print a large map, poster, or banner but only have an A4 printer? PDFrust's poster tool splits any PDF into A4 tiles you can tape together into a large print.
What is poster tiling?
Poster tiling splits a large page into overlapping tiles, each printed on a separate A4 sheet. After printing, you tape the sheets together. The result is a large poster or floor plan without needing a professional wide-format printer.
Create poster tiles with PDFrust
Upload your large PDF to the poster tool. Choose the tile format (A4, A3, or custom). The tool automatically calculates how many tiles are needed and adds overlap for accurate alignment. Download the tile set as one PDF.

Great for maps and technical drawings
Architects and engineers print large technical drawings at home as poster tiles. Schools print large maps. Event planners print venue layout posters for large halls. Any situation where you have A4 but need A0 or A1.
Alignment when assembling
The overlap the poster tool adds (default 5–10 mm) helps with alignment. Trim to the overlap line of one sheet and place the next sheet behind it. Use a light box or window to check tile alignment before taping.
