Flip PDF pages like a mirror: left-right or top-bottom

1 min read·25 July 2026

Sometimes a PDF needs to be mirrored — for print transfer purposes, stencil creation, or correcting a wrongly scanned page. PDFrust's mirror tool flips pages in one click.

When to mirror PDF pages

Transfer prints and iron-on vinyl are printed mirrored so they read correctly after transfer. Some print processes (screen printing, linocut) require a mirrored original. Stencils and templates viewed from the reverse side.

Horizontal vs. vertical flip

Horizontal mirroring (left-right flip) is most common — text becomes a mirror image. Vertical mirroring (top-bottom flip) inverts content upside down but mirrored. Note: vertical flip is different from 180° rotation — flipping keeps left on the left and right on the right.

How to use the mirror tool

Upload your PDF to the mirror tool. Choose the flip axis: horizontal (left/right) or vertical (top/bottom). Apply to all pages or a selection. Download the mirrored result. Check a preview to confirm the flip direction is correct.

Combine with rotation

Sometimes a page needs both mirroring and rotation — e.g. for an upside-down scan that was also flipped. Use the rotate tool after the mirror tool to achieve the correct final result.
