How to crop a PDF and remove white space

1 min read·25 July 2026

Too much white space or large margins in a PDF? With PDFrust you trim the pages to exactly the right size. Useful for presentations, invoices, or documents you want to resize before printing.

When do you crop a PDF?

Scanned documents often have a border around the page — white, grey, or from the scanner background. PDFs from Word or PowerPoint can have large blank margins. Cropping removes those borders and reduces the effective page size.

Open the crop tool on PDFrust. Upload your PDF. Set the crop margins (left, right, top, bottom) in millimetres or points. Check the preview and adjust until the content fits perfectly. Click Save and download.

Crop for printing

Want to print a PDF without margins ("bleed")? Crop the PDF so the content reaches the edge of the page. Then the printer prints the content all the way to the edge.

Crop vs resize

Cropping removes parts of the page and changes the page size. Resizing scales the content to a different format without cutting anything away. Choose crop to remove white space; choose resize to convert A4 to A3.
