How to change the PDF page size (A4, A5, Letter)
1 min read·25 July 2026
A PDF created on A4 but needing to be printed on A5, or an American Letter file you want to convert to A4 — with PDFrust's resize tool you change the page size without quality loss.
Why change the page size?
Receiving an A4 PDF but need an A5 brochure? Or the reverse: an A5 booklet you want to print on A4? The resize tool adjusts the page size — content is proportionally scaled so proportions are preserved.
Letter to A4 and vice versa
American Letter size (8.5 × 11 inches) is slightly wider and shorter than A4 (210 × 297 mm). When printing Letter on A4 margins can shift. The resize tool converts Letter to A4 so the content fits correctly on European paper.

Resize tool in PDFrust
Open the resize tool on PDFrust. Upload your PDF. Choose the target format: A3, A4, A5, A6, Letter, Legal, or a custom size (in mm). Choose whether to scale the content (stretch) or centre it with empty borders. Download the updated PDF.
Scale vs. crop
Scaling adjusts the content proportionally to the new format. Cropping removes the borders but does not adjust the content. Use resize if you want to convert the entire document; use crop if you only want to adjust the visible area.
