How to print multiple PDF pages per sheet
1 min read·25 July 2026
Want to print a PDF compactly — multiple pages per A4 sheet? You set this during printing itself, in your printer settings. Here is how it works on Windows, Mac, and mobile.
Windows (Edge, Adobe)
Press Ctrl+P to open the print dialog. Look under "Pages per sheet" or "Multiple pages" for the option for 2, 4, or 6 pages per sheet. Both Edge and Adobe Acrobat support this setting.
Mac (Preview)
Open the PDF in Preview and press Cmd+P. Click "Show Details". Under the "Layout" panel choose the desired number of pages per sheet and the order.

Want to save a compact version of the PDF as a file (not just print it)? Use the resize tool on PDFrust to adjust the page size, or use "Print to PDF" with the multiple-per-sheet setting.
Handouts for presentations
Have a PowerPoint as PDF and want to make handouts? Set 2, 4, or 6 slides per page when printing. You can also compress the PDF first via PDFrust if the printer is slow due to a large file size.
