Why change a page size?

A PDF created on an American computer often uses Letter format (8.5×11 inch) instead of European A4 (210×297 mm). When printing, ugly white borders appear or content gets cut off. By adjusting the format you adapt the PDF for your printer.

How does the resize tool work?

Choose the desired output format (A4, A3, A5, Letter, Legal, etc.) or enter a custom width and height. The tool adjusts the page format and scales the content proportionally. Original proportions are preserved.

Does the content scale too?

Yes. Going from Letter to A4, the content scales slightly (less than 2%). With larger format differences — such as from A4 to A3 — the content is scaled up significantly. The tool keeps the aspect ratio intact so text and images do not distort.

When do you choose resize instead of cropping?

Resize changes the page format and scales the content. Cropping changes the page format by cutting the edges (content does not scale). For fitting to a standard print format use resize. For removing empty borders use crop.
