PDF guide for chemists, laboratory analysts, and chemical technicians

1 min read·3 December 2026

Chemists and laboratory analysts produce analytical reports, Certificates of Analysis (CoA), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and project files. With PDFrust those documents are processed accurately, professionally, and securely.

Compile an analytical report

A chemical analytical report contains method description, raw measurement data, calculated results, calibration curves, and conclusions. Merge all components into one PDF using the merge tool. Merge charts (exported from Excel as PDF) and tables with the text report.

Stamp Certificates of Analysis (CoA)

CoAs are supplied with chemical products and must contain the production date, batch number, and analysis date. Add batch and date stamps using the stamp tool. Have the responsible analyst sign digitally via the sign tool.

Manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

Safety Data Sheets must be current and accessible to employees. Merge them by chemical category into one PDF archive for the internal library. Stamp each SDS with the date of last verification.

Compress and deliver lab reports

Lab reports with many graphical attachments (spectra, chromatograms) can be large. Compress them via the compress tool for delivery to clients or regulatory bodies.

Protect sensitive process information

Synthetic procedures and process specifications are commercially sensitive. Protect those documents with an opening password via the protect tool. Use the redact tool when sharing portions with external auditors or suppliers.
