Number PDF pages quickly with custom formatting

1 min read·25 July 2026

A long report or document bundle without page numbers is hard to navigate. PDFrust lets you add page numbers to every page of your PDF — choose position, style, and starting number.

Why add page numbers?

Page numbers enable a table of contents and help readers refer to specific sections in meetings or discussions. Legal and formal documents often require page numbering.

Choose position and format

Open the numbers tool and upload your PDF. Set whether numbers appear at the top or bottom, and left, centre, or right. Choose your starting number — useful when the cover page shouldn't be counted.

Number styles

Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3), Roman numerals (I, II, III), or letters (A, B, C) — pick the style that fits the document. Add an optional prefix like "Page" or "p.".

Combine with headers and footers

Want more than just a number? Use the header/footer tool to also add the document title or date alongside the page number, creating a fully professional-looking footer.
