Set PDF page margins: add white space around content

A PDF without margins may be clipped when printed. PDFrust's margins tool adds white space to the edges of PDF pages so content won't be cut off — and gives documents a professional, printable layout.
Why add margins?
PDFs with no margins can be clipped by printers with a minimum non-printable area. Professional documents need margins of 20–25 mm for readability and binding. Scanned documents sometimes lack sufficient white space around text.
How to set margins with PDFrust
Open the margins tool and upload your PDF. Set the desired margin in millimetres for each side: top, bottom, left, right. Use equal margins on all sides or set different values (e.g. wider left margin for binding). Apply to all pages or a selection.

Binding margin for double-sided print
For double-sided documents that will be bound, you need a wider inner margin (the binding side). On odd pages the left margin is the inner; on even pages the right margin is the inner. Use asymmetric margins to set this correctly.
Margins vs. cropping
The margins tool adds white space to the existing content — the page gets larger. The crop tool trims the existing page — the page gets smaller. Combine them: crop to remove excess space, then add margins for uniform white edges.
