PDF guide for tax advisors and fiscal specialists
2 min read·7 January 2027
Tax advisors process tax returns, fiscal opinions, objections, and client files. With PDFrust all these fiscal documents can be quickly merged, secured, and professionally archived.
Compile a tax return file
A tax return file contains the return itself, payslips, annual statements, mortgage interest, charitable donation receipts, and other attachments. Merge all separate documents in the order of the return sections. Stamp each attachment with "ANNEX" and the relevant section (e.g. "ANNEX 3a — Mortgage Interest").
Draft an objection
An objection to a tax assessment consists of the grounds and the attachments (supporting documents). Merge the grounds document and all supporting documents into one PDF. Flatten the objection before filing so it is no longer editable. Add the assessment confirmation page as the first attachment.

Protect fiscal opinions
Fiscal opinions contain sensitive client information and business strategy. Protect the PDF opinion with a password for clients who receive it digitally. Use the Redact tool to remove client-identifying information from versions used internally as example opinions.
Compress large client files
Client files spanning multiple years of documents can be hundreds of MB. Compress the final file for storage in the DMS or for transfer to the client at the end of the advisory relationship. Aim for less than 50 MB per file year for efficient storage.
OCR for scanned receipts and supporting documents
Clients submit receipts, invoices, and supporting documents as scanned documents or photos. Use the OCR tool to make scanned documents searchable. This speeds up processing and makes the file searchable by supplier, date, or amount.
