PDF for wedding invitations: shareable, printable and personalised

Whether you're getting married or designing for couples, wedding invitations as PDFs are cheaper, faster and easier to personalise than traditional print runs. Here's how to do it right.

Digital invitation vs. printed invitation

A digital PDF invitation is sent by email or messaging app — zero printing cost, zero postage. A printed invitation goes to the printer as a press-ready PDF with correct margins and bleed marks. You can do both: digital for most guests, printed for immediate family.

Sizes and margins

Popular sizes: A5 (148x210 mm), DL (110x220 mm) and square (148x148 mm). For print, always include 3 mm bleed beyond the cut line. Check in PDFrust that the safe zone (text at least 5 mm from the cut line) is correct before sending to the printer.

Personalising per guest

Want each invitation personalised with a name and menu choice? Create a base template PDF and use PDF form fill to enter names. Then flatten each copy individually and save as a separate file. This lets you produce hundreds of personalised invitations efficiently.

RSVP and supplementary information

Maintaining quality
