PDF guide for technical drafters and CAD operators
2 min read·19 November 2026
Technical drafters produce precision drawings for manufacturing, construction, and engineering. With PDFrust you process those PDFs quickly and professionally — from revision stamps to compressing large files for handover to production.
Stamp drawings with revision code
Every technical drawing has a revision code and status. Add a revision stamp using the stamp tool: "REV B", "APPROVED", or "DRAFT". This makes the version always clear on the drawing itself — even after printing or downloading.
Compress large drawings for handover
CAD-exported PDFs are often 10–100 MB due to high resolution and vector data. Compress them with PDFrust for handover via email or FTP to suppliers, clients, or production departments.

Compile drawing sets
A production file consists of multiple drawings, a parts list, tolerance specifications, and a title sheet. Merge everything into one PDF drawing set using the merge tool. Add page numbers and a table of contents via the header/footer tool.
Change page sizes
Convert drawings from A0 to A3 for discussions or A4 for inclusion in a report. Use the resize tool to adjust all pages at once. Add a scale note via the stamp tool when the format changes.
Extract specific drawings
A client requests only the elevation drawings from a complete building file. Use the split tool to extract specific page ranges as separate PDFs without sending the entire dossier.
