How to merge even and odd scanned PDF pages

Did you scan a document by first scanning all front pages and then all back pages? With the even/odd interleaver on PDFrust you combine both halves into one correctly ordered PDF file.

When do you need this tool?

Many flatbed scanner users scan a stack of sheets in two passes: first all odd pages (fronts), then all even pages (backs) in reverse order. The PDFrust even/odd tool merges those two PDFs in the correct way, so you do not have to drag pages around manually.

How does it work exactly?

Upload the PDF with the odd pages and the PDF with the even pages. The tool interleaves the pages: page 1 from the first file, page 1 from the second file (reversed), page 2 from the first, and so on. The result is a correctly interleaved document.

What if the back pages are scanned in reverse?

That is exactly what happens with flatbed duplex scanning: the backs are in reverse order. The tool accounts for this and automatically reverses the order of the second file before interleaving.

Are there alternatives?

If your scanner can scan double-sided by itself (ADF with duplexer), you do not need this tool. But for a regular flatbed scanner this is the fastest way to combine a double-sided scanned document without expensive software.
