PDF guide for mathematics teachers and STEM educators
1 min read·26 September 2026
Mathematics teachers produce tests, examinations, practice problems, answer instructions, and grade registers. Efficient PDF management supports the secure administration of tests and the correct archiving of examination results.
Securing tests for administration
Digital tests must not leak before administration. Protect the test PDF with a password that is only released to invigilators on the morning of the test. After the test, the protected version becomes the archive document; the answer key is stored separately.
Merging answer keys
The answer key, point distribution, and marking instructions are combined in one PDF for the teacher marking team. Watermark the answer key with "FOR TEACHERS ONLY" to prevent distribution to students.

Merging digital submissions per class
When students submit mathematical assignments as PDFs, they are bundled per class for efficient marking. Merge the submitted PDFs into one overview document with bookmarks per student.
Archiving grade registers
Test results, attendance records, and assessment forms are archived in accordance with school policy. Scan paper forms and apply OCR so student names and grades are searchable in the student tracking system.
Compiling school examination dossiers
The school examination dossier per student contains all components: tests, oral examination, practical assignments, and the school examination total grade. Merge all components into one PDF per student for submission to the examination board and archiving after the examination period.
