PDF guide for building inspectors and property surveyors

2 min read·13 May 2027

Building inspectors prepare detailed inspection reports, merge photographic evidence, and archive construction certificates. With PDFrust all these documents can be quickly and professionally compiled.

Compile inspection reports with photos

A building survey report contains per room the findings, identified defects, and photos. Merge photos with the report using the Merge tool. Annotate defects directly in the photos with circles and arrows. Stamp the final report with date and inspector ID.

Process completion checklists

At handover of a new-build property hundreds of items are checked. Process the completed checklist as PDF. Merge photos of punchlist items as appendix. Stamp each item with its status (PASS / FAIL / TO VERIFY).

Archive energy performance certificates

Energy performance certificates are issued as official PDF certificates by the assessor. Store the certificate as part of the building technical file. Merge it with the inspection report and installation documentation in one building dossier.

Protect asbestos or environmental reports

Asbestos survey reports and contamination reports are sensitive documents with legal standing. Flatten all annotations after completion. Protect the report with a password — not modifiable after delivery. Stamp as "CERTIFIED REPORT" with the official reference code.

Prepare comparative reports

At periodic follow-up inspections, findings are compared with earlier inspections. Merge the current report with the previous report as appendix. Annotate improvements and persistent defects. Deliver the comparative report as one PDF document.
