PDF guide for pilots and flight crew

1 min read·10 December 2026

Pilots work with flight plans, technical logbooks, certificates, incident reports, and medical checks. With PDFrust all those documents are processed quickly and professionally to meet aviation requirements.

Compile flight plan and briefing documents

A flight briefing consists of the flight plan, NOTAM summary, METAR/TAF weather report, and route chart. Merge all components into one PDF using the merge tool for a complete, clear briefing pack. Stamp it with the flight date and flight number.

Technical logbook and journey log

Journey logs are sometimes stored as PDFs. Merge journey log pages per month or year for the aircraft archive. OCR-process scanned logbook pages to make them searchable — useful during audits.

Archive certificates and licences

ATPL, medical certificate, type ratings, recency stamps — a pilot's licence file consists of multiple documents. Merge all certificates into one secured PDF. Stamp each document with the validity date. Protect the file with a password.

Format incident reports

A safety or incident report must be fast and factual. Use the formFill tool to create a fillable form for repeatable reporting. Sign the report digitally via the sign tool. Flatten for archival integrity.

Compress large PDFs for delivery

Aircraft manuals (AFM, FCOM) can be hundreds of MB as PDFs. Compress them for use on an EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) or for emailing to crew members.
