Aircraft mechanics produce maintenance documentation, task cards, logbook entries, and certificates of release to service under the strict oversight of EASA and national aviation authorities. Reliable PDF documentation is a regulatory requirement and a flight safety matter.

Merging task cards per work package

A work package for a C-check or annual maintenance contains dozens of task cards. Merge all task cards into one PDF per aircraft per maintenance period, sorted by ATA chapter. Use bookmarks per ATA code for rapid navigation through the package.

Stamping and signing maintenance documentation

Maintenance tasks are signed off by the certifying staff (Part-66 licence holder). Insert the mechanic's signature using the sign tool, stamp each task card with the date and aircraft registration. This is an EASA Part-145 requirement.

Compressing logbooks for archiving

Aircraft technical logbooks must be preserved for the lifetime of the aircraft. Compress scanned logbook pages into a searchable PDF/A archive while preserving the legibility of handwriting.

Bundling certificates of release to service

After each maintenance event, an EASA Form 1 or certificate of release to service is produced. Merge the form with the associated task cards and maintenance instructions (AMM, SB, or AD) into one final dossier. Save as PDF/A for technical documentation archiving.

Tracking Airworthiness Directives

Airworthiness Directives (ADs) are mandatory orders from the aviation authority. Archive each mandatory AD as a searchable PDF with the implementation date and the signature of the responsible mechanic. OCR makes the AD number and expiry date searchable in the compliance matrix.
